Static, line-of-sight, fixed position microwave Tx/Rx systems are relatively straight forward and
reliable in most scenarios when proper antenna placement and power/range specs are
considered.
However, moving transmitter, (body worn or mobile), applications* require more sophisticated
receive equipment and set-up procedures to insure clean pictures & satisfactory results.
The majority of low-cost, (under $5000), and non-diversity microwave systems we’ve seen may
be generally OK in short range, fixed point to point (Tx to Rx) situations, but are inconsistent,
unstable, and more often than not, unacceptable in most moving body worn applications.
